Help Them Finish the Fight

By Super Geek on 3/30/2015

There is some exciting news coming from the north - Galactic Battles.

Galactic Battles is an Open Movie Project that is the brain child of Nick Romick and a group of more than 30 CG artists, cosplayers, and actors. They are collaborating to create a non-profit movie-grade fan film that brings four of your favorite sci-fi franchises together under one roof - Halo, Mass Effect, Star Wars, and Star Trek.

Check out the first Teaser Trailer released as part of their IndieGoGo Campaign

Don’t confuse this with a simple inter-franchise battle flick, the movie is set up as more of a multiverse good vs. evil confrontation scenario. The result is some never before seen partnerships, unexpected allegiances, and unknown interactions between some quite powerful factions. The film is very heavily CG oriented with epic space battle scenes interspersed with live-action sequences. There is a lot of anticipation, and discussion, as to how it will all turn out.

To date the following characters have been cast:

Other main and supporting parts are in the works.

The crew of Galactic Battles has been working hard and has completed much of the foundation and framework needed to execute on their vision. The movie is estimated to be completed by the end of 2015 with the filming of live actor sequences scheduled to occur later this spring. The entire timeline is highly dependent on meeting forecasted budget needs.

Galactic Battles has set up an IndieGoGo campaign which is now live. Check this out to see more of the history and idea behind this amazing undertaking. There are some great rewards for donating to the campaign, but even if you can’t help financially please spread the word about this film and share information about the campaign.

They have done so much, now it is time for us, the fan community, to help them finish the fight. Your help, in whatever form, is greatly appreciated.
